Happy Mother's Day!  There are plenty of exciting Mother's Day events going on this weekend that the kids are sure to love and in my experience happy kids leads to a happy mom! For Moms looking for a break this weekend, Dad and the kids are sure to find some shows or activities to keep them busy.

This week's awesome giveaway is for tickets to the popular Baby Loves Disco Superhero Tour.  All you have to do is leave a comment to enter!

Some great performances kick off on Friday and continue throughout the weekend.  On Cinco de Mayo SEA kicked off their performance of Viva Pinocho! at their new theater.  Imagination Movers is live on stage at Best Buy Theater Friday through Sunday. Uncle Rock's Mother's Day Extravaganza will be at 92Y|Tribeca on Sunday.

For those who enjoy shopping, Torly Kid is hosting a Tween Shopping Soiree on Saturday. Check out the full event schedule which includes a hula hoop contest and manicures. The Festival of Ideas for the New City StreetFest takes over the Bowery on Sunday with activies, performances and more.  Spring Community Day will bring friends and families together on Wall street with planting food and crafts.

Finally, if you have the opportunity to see Race to Nowhere about the future of education it is certainly an eye-opening film.  Thank you to NYC Dads Group for hosting the screening on Wednesday evening!

Have a wonderful week!

Meet "The Dirties"

>Softsoap Video
Getting kids to wash their hands can be quite the challenge! Softsoap has created a video that not only educates kids about proper hand washing, but also makes the experience fun and easy! Watch “The Dirties” a rock-band of germs performing in a stadium of raucous fans. The irresistibly catchy chorus of “pump the pump” reminds kids of occasions when it is necessary to wash their hands. Midway through the song, the band is transformed into “The Cleanies” by the power of soap.  Macaroni Kid sponsor Softsoap believes that telling kids to go "Pump the Pump" is more fun than nagging "wash your hands".  Try it with your kids!
