Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!  It is so nice to take the time to sit down with friends and family, enjoy a delicious meal and recognize all that you are thankful for this year.  I know I have a lot to be thankful for including all of you my loyal readers! However, after the turkey is gone there is a nice long weekend to explore the city with your family. Here are just a few great ideas for the coming week:

Friday, November 25 - 28th Annual Seaport Chorus Tree Lighting Spectacular

TODAY Show personality and fashion expert Jill Martin will host one of New York City’s most beloved holiday traditions, with a 40-foot tree serving as the centerpiece of a seven-minute “Sparkle at the Seaport” light show spectacular. Festivities will kick-off with performances by the Darren Wallis Jazz Trio and the Soul Tigers Marching Band. All-male barbershop chorus, The Big Apple Chorus, will perform seasonal favorites, and costumed characters will help Santa Claus countdown to the tree lighting ceremony. To round-off the evening, Ronnie Spector will give a special performance, making it a night to remember for the whole family.

  • Description: The Three Bears Holiday Bash is a variety show that celebrates the holiday season in song, dance, and puppetry. This production quickly becomes a comedy of errors when Baby Bear invites Santa to star in Mama and Papa Bears’ annual holiday show.  Drawing from the stories of Hanukkah, the Night Before Christmas, and Kwanzaa, The Three Bears Holiday Bash is a great way to get into the holiday season spirit. 
  • When: Nov 14th - Dec 30th, Mon - Fri. at 10:30 & 12pm; Wed. at 2:30pm; Sat & Sun at 1:00PM with additional shows on Nov 25th & Dec 27th-30th.

Uncle Pirate

  • Description:  Wilson is just your average kid. Then one day he finds out his uncle is a pirate… like, a REAL pirate! With help from Uncle Pirate and his faithful talking penguin, maybe, just maybe, Wilson can survive the fourth grade. Grab yer eye patches and pirate hats, mateys! The adventure begins now!

  • Description: UNTAPPED! is an eclectic mash-up of tap, acrobatics, funk and rock guaranteed to turn the New Vic into a hotbed of high-octane entertainment.
